I surprised my brother, Matthew, with a visit to LA’s tallest building, the U.S. Bank Tower. This is the site of OUE Sky Space and the Skyslide, an outdoor glass slide that hovers 1,000 feet above downtown Los Angeles. Skyslide is forty-five feet long, 4 feet wide and made entirely with 1-1/4 inches thick glass. The only way I could convince my height-fearing brother to launch himself down an all glass slide on the outside of the U.S. Bank Tower, from the 70th to the 69th floor, was to tell him there was on open bar at the of bottom of the slide. True story.
